Guideline for Patients

Guideline

 

  • Please use your identification bracelets until your discharge and inform your nurse if the bracelet is removed.
  • Please protect your escort card and follow the instructions on its overleaf
  • Please have your insurance booklet close at hand for confirmation and inquire the ward secretary regarding the use of supplementary insurance
  • Identify healthcare staff through the signs installed in the hallways
  • Read the patients’ rights’ signs installed in the ward’s hallway in order to understand your rights
  • Visitation hours are Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 14:00 to 16:00. Please inquire from the physicians regarding allowed foodstuff to bring during visitations
  • At the start of each shift, the nurse in charge will introduce themselves. Remember their name and cooperate with then until the end of the shift.
  • Inquire about the name of your attending physician from your nurse
  • At the start of each shift, the ward’s nursing aid, wearing a distinct uniform, will introduce themselves. They are in charge of basic healthcare services (patient transfer, changing cloths and bedsheets, etc.)
  • Please wash your hands with soap and water before and after any interactions with your patient. Unwashed hands are the most common method for transfer of diseases.
  • Please use closed containers or transparent plastic bags when putting food in the fridge. Never use black or colored bags.
  • Religious activities are possible inside the wards as well as in the mosque near the hospital’s entrance. Furthermore, special prayer chairs are provided in each ward and the Qibla direction is shown in each ward. Congregational Prayers are held after noon and Maghrib prayer calls.
  • Please ensure that the bed’s safety is raised during sleep, when leaving the room and when transferring the patient. If the patient is allowed to leave the bed, they must sit on the bed’s edge for a few minutes before climbing down.
  • The patient’s diet is determined by physician, nurse and nutritionist. This diet must be followed. Breakfast is distributed until 7 AM, launch until 13:30 and dinner is at 19:00, with the empty dishes being gathered one hour after food delivery. Please return the empty dishes after discarding the extra food in the blue bins inside to rooms. This hospital offers two different choices for each meal for the patients. The food menu is installed on the room’s wall.
  • Trash contaminated with blood, stool and urine must be put inside the yellow trashcan while normal waste is placed in the blue trashcan.
  • Public bathrooms and showers are available in each hallway
  • Each patient and their escorts are tasked with taking care of their own personal belongings (bags, money, etc.)
  • The educational pamphlets regarding self-care for your patients are available in each ward. Ask your nurse about them and also ask any questions in this regard.
  • Please ask your physician and nurse about the schedule and method of using medications, diet, allowed activity levels and time and place for follow-up visitations, during discharge.
  • The time for patient’s discharge is informed by the Ward’s secretary and discharge is possible after receiving the necessary education. Therefore, before discharge, please visit the public and patient education office located at the ground floor or call 031-32600961(internal No. 295) regarding self-care of your patient and necessary guidance and consultations.
